Dear Pilots,
We would like to announce the largest annual fly-in event organised by us on Vatsim: Budapest Overload 2008! This will be the 4th time the Budapest Overload takes place since 2005 when VACC Hungary held its first large scale event. The number of pilots grew by the years and now we expect more pilots than Budapest-Ferihegy has on a busy day in real; about 400-500 movements during the event. We have every reason to believe that this goal can be achieved; Budapest Overload 2008 will be joined by Malév Hungarian VA Real Ops Day, and a number of other airlines already announced their participation, too.
Budapest Overload 2008 will take place on the
15th of March 2008, from 0600 UTC until 2300 UTC.
During the event some other Hungarian airports will alos be covered in accordance with the demands (e.g. like Debrecen - LHDC or Sármellék-Fly Balaton - LHSM), so you will have also the opportunity to fly local domestic flights in our beautiful country. You can find free sceneries
here.
Check out some details what you will have during this fantastic event:
- Full controller coverage at Budapest-Ferihegy International Airport and the upper sectors during the event - yes, we will be online 17 hours or so. And that also means between 6 to 10 controllers online at peak times!
- In addition to the Hungarian ATC coverage, we asked all neighbouring VACCs to provide controller service at the evening around Hungary. During the afternoon you may also expect Eurocontrol East and Maastrich Radar on duty.
- Expeditent slot-based booking system is available
here. If you are planning to participate in the event, do not hesitate to book your own slot as soon as possible.
- Following the tail of our previous annual events, we are going to staff the ATS facility called Operation Control Centre (OCC). You can read more about this position
here.
- For those, who don't know it yet, significant changes were introduced in the Hungarian airspace in May 2007 (e.g. brand-new departure and arrival routes are now in use). You can check them
here. Hence please download the latest charts here and the latest AIRAC databases
here.
It doesn't matter how old you are, where you come from, ever so you do really mean the virtual aviation - VACCHUN is waiting for you to spend a memorable day together.
Welcome to Budapest Overload 2008! VACC Hungary Team
