The Munich FIR is planning this year's Event-Highlight: Oktoberfest FlyIn 2006.

Imagine the FIR Munich vControllers, getting together and having a LAN Party right next to the Oktoberfest in Munich and serving you with sophisticated ATC out of one single room equipped with 14 workstations - then you get the idea of what we're up to.

Picking up the event's ideas of 2004 and 2005, Oktoberfest FlyIn 2006 is one of the biggest VATSIM ATC-event we have so far.

Some data in brief for Oktoberfest FlyIn 2006:
Date: Sat, September 16th
Time: 1700 - 2200 UTC
Stations: EDDM fully staffed, plus neighbouring CTRs, 12 stations in EDDM "on the job" simultaneously
Traffic: aiming up to more than 300 EDDM-movements within the evening

We kindly encourage you and your local FIR to participate in this event by staffing the neighbouring FIR positions at your own discretion. The event will be advertised on an international basis (VATSIM-Homepage and -Forum, vAirlines, VACC SAG-Forum, and others), so we expect quite some traffic crossing countries close-by. We would highly appreciate if you are willing to support the pilots by serving them en-route ATC or act as departure- or destination-service.

We also encourage you to forward this information to people or organisations of same interest, like local virtual Airlines flying at VATSIM or to post this information in your local forums and discussion-boards.
